Aunt Velvet

An unforgettable woman passed away at 3:10 Friday August 12-2011. Velvet Parris, who was respected by many in life, and in death is revered as one of the most loved people, has taken her place in heaven.
People who have had the opportunity to meet Aunt Velvet, would agree with me how likable her personality was. As a matter of fact most folks who had the chance to get close to her eventually ended up calling her sister, aunt, or an enduring name that indicated she was loved.
The gift she had to make people feel welcomed was not something she acquired over the years, because it was something inside of her, it was her true nature which made people open up and be themselves.
Aunt Velvet was born with a soul of strength, and a mind of might. Her unwavering faith never left her, not even in her last breath when she passed away in her bed at home with her loving daughter and three beautiful granddaughters by her bedside.

It wasn't until I was at Aunt Velvets bedside, her body laid appearing as if she was sleeping, that I realized the paramount journey she was just embarking on, as I never thought I would be saying goodbye to my Aunt Velvet so soon. She did not surrender to the cancer, she simply accepted her ticket home to Heaven to grab her wings.

Although her body is gone, it is no secret that she is still with us in spirit. Aunt Velvet's powerful energy will sparkle like the star she is. She is an Arch Angel guiding and protecting her family. Her daughter, son and 3 grandchildren will feel her presence daily. She will make certain of it.
From her bubbly laugh and friendly smile, to her straight-up way of stating her point, a very good friend , with a real cool kat character, Aunt Velvet is loved.
